Biography-

Mia Zachary always wanted to write and over the years produced a collection of terrible poetry and overly dramatic short stories. She finally decided to try a full length novel in the mid-80s and began writing a sweeping medieval historical called 'The Storm Lord'. (It still isn't finished.)

In 1988, Mia gave up on the past and tried writing modern day fiction. The result was Destiny's Dream, a complex tale of disaster dates, shipboard romance and a heroin smuggling ring. In other words, it was completely unmarketable for the category romance market, so she published it herself to very good reviews and almost no sales.

Her revised manuscript won the Harlequin Books 2000 Summer Blaze contest for bold, brash love scenes. Her entry placed Second in the published category and  Harlequin Blaze published her first book, RED SHOES & A DIARY, in April 2003. This debut novel received excellent reviews- “Her writing is beautiful, her characters honest and her book a keeper”; “fresh, unique, and really quiet a bit funny” and “a solid, fast paced, entertaining read”.

Mia’s second Blaze garnered fantastic praise as well- "YOURS IN BLACK LACE  is a page-turner from the first paragraph. Full of action, intrigue, and romance, this book doesn't have a dull moment." and "Yours in Black Lace” will, without a doubt, make a place for itself in, not just the keeper shelf but also in the readers’ collective hearts".

Reaction to her third book was excellent- "Filled with an intense emotional appeal, 9 ˝ DAYS will have you enthralled... Mia Zachary writes with such verve and flair that her stories sweep you along on a thrilling ride through the emotional lives of her intriguing and compelling characters." 9 1/2 DAYS, was rated 4.5 Star Top Pick by Romantic Times Bookclub in November 2004.

AFTERNOON DELIGHT, Mia's fourth book, not only received stellar reviews and a 4 1/2 star Top Pick rating from Romantic Times Bookclub, but also made the Bookscan Top 100 Romance List during the first two weeks of publication. Mia has  donated a percentage of her royalties to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.

Mia lives in Maryland with her husband of sixteen years and their beautiful little boy. In addition to being an award-winning writer, she is a former litigation paralegal and often volunteers as a writing contest judge.
