Anne B. from Australia wrote: Part of my philosophy of a good Blaze read is a few tears of emotion along the way – both happy and sad – and to be left smiling and contentedly sighing as I read the final paragraph. Afternoon Delight definitely came up trumps with these expectations. As I write this, my eyes are still a little teary from happiness and my heart is fluttering with good will for the believable and heart-warming characters of Love Doctor Chris London and Superior Court Commissioner Rei Davis... The plot flowed
perfectly and was easy to read. It was not bogged down with reams of
prose but cleverly broken up with email messages, telephone
conversations and witty banter between Rei and Chris and also Rei and
her friend PJ. The love scenes were sensually and sensitively
written and aptly demonstrated the growing admiration and then love
between the two characters. <<sigh>> Secondary plots are
also vital to make more sense of the frailties and ultimate strengths of
the main heroes. Afternoon Delight delivered, and more so. The
trials and tribulations of Chris London’s family were particularly
fascinating and aptly shed light on his attitudes to life and love. The
way these threads eventually led up to connecting with the main theme
was quite smartly executed...
Pairing yummy, gorgeous, empathic, sexy Love Doctor
Chris London with the exotic looking, brainy, petite yet strong, Superior
Court Commissioner Rei Davis is a move that has real merit...
Overall,
I’ve felt so honoured and excited to be able to preview this story. It
was certainly entertaining from go to whoa and I’m looking forward to
purchasing and rereading this book when it is finally released in
Australia.

The e-mails and telephone messages gave an added insight into the personalities of both Chris and Rei. I found the childhood tragedies to be very real and poignant and not over the top. Rei's triumph over breast cancer and implementing life changing and different priorities was inspiring. A wonderful heartwarming (and hot) romantic read."

Fulfilling one of her Life List items, she grabs date doctor and matchmaking service owner Chris London by his cajones. Both of them plan on one anonymous encounter being the end of it--but neither can resist coming back for more of the fantasy. It's when Rei and Chris take the masks off that this book really shines--I found myself rooting for these two characters to make it past their personal issues and have their happily ever after. If you want a sexy read with unforgettable characters, put Afternoon Delight on your Life List.

Mia Zachary's writing is prolific, tear jerking, exhilarating and truly inspiring! Afternoon Delight is one of those books that sucks you in and keeps you firmly in its grasp. The characters and their relationships were believable and easy to relate to. From the very first sentence, I was emotionally invested in Rei and everything that was going on in her life. I cried, I cheered, I sighed, I laughed, I cried some more. Chris and Rei's triumphs were my triumphs – their pain, my pain. I found myself wanting to free-fall into life, and never look down. Such a beautifully written book is one I will be proud to not only own, but also recommend to friends! |
