The Bagua Map 
(always align the map so the the bottom edge coincides with the entrance to the room)

BA means 'eight' and GUA means 'area', so there are eight areas around the center foundation that correspond to the areas of our lives. Here's what was in each section when I first started the class:

WISDOM- The only entrance/ exit

CAREER- a small kitchen table that was supposed to give me a clear workspace for nothing but my laptop and WIP; however it currently has my Barbie doll house, some WIP files and a bunch of clutter (pens, candles, rocks, toys, receipts) on top and half-filled plastic files boxes underneath

PEOPLE/TRAVEL- The edge of the worktable crosses into here, then between the table and closet is more clutter. The closet itself is a freaking mess and the shelves I bought to get it organized are sitting on the floor outside the closet door, along with curtain rods, a step ladder and a corkboard. Usually the trash can is back here

CREATIVITY- There is a window to the backyard and pool with a sheer magenta curtain panel to filter the bright morning sunlight. There is clutter on the floor- a fire-proof box, a basket and some recharger plugs

FOUNDATION- This is empty floor space with the main light source overhead. Clutter sometimes travels into this are of the floor and right now the trash can is there

HEALTH- There is a small bookcase which holds my collection of travel guides and Oprah magazines, my son's baby books and my author copies of my four novels. On the very top of the shelf is a phone, a clock radio and some clutter- the other sheer curtain that I haven't hung yet, a stuffed animal, cleaning spray and papers. In front of the case is clutter- books I need to autograph and mail, mailing envelopes, a shipping box

WEALTH- In this corner is a tall bookshelf that holds my Keeper books, research books and writing guidebooks. There is some clutter in the form of nail polish, a candle, sea shells, piles of music Cds and workshop tapes. However, on the floor in front of the case are two bags of my Mom's stuff, a damaged Japanese silk screen, Barbie stuff and two pictures frames

FAME/REP- The second window that looks onto the side yard is here with no curtain. My desk partially covers the window. Below that is the stand on which I keep my printer, copy paper and the cable internet router. Sometimes the trash can sits in front of that. On the floor are two briefcases of paperwork for my late grandmother's estate for which I am executor. On the part of the desk in this Bagua area sit my three Barbie dolls (It's set up to look like a crit group with the Fairytopia Barbie as Muse). Below them however is a bunch of clutter- magazines, articles I want to read, notes to myself, projects I need to work on, trip plans, bills, my makeup case etc.

RELATIONSHIPS- My L-shaped desk takes up this area. I have my back to the door but I can gaze out either window. My PC with the time-sucking Internet connection is here along with a ton of clutter [Only about 3 square inches of desktop was visible]. You name it, it's on here- postage stamps, birth control pills, baseball cap, baby nail clippers, my wallet, some Legos, loose credit cards, my Learn Italian CDs, etc.

So... I go to work, clearing out clutter and anything that wasn't 'positive' and even moving some things around:

WISDOM- still the entryway

CAREER- the work table is now clear of all clutter under it as well
as on top of it. Attempted a bagua map so that my laptop is in Career, my Fairy Barbie is standing in Creativity, the lamp is in Wealth and some objects like my Waterman pen set from my best friend are is Fame.

TRAVEL- I moved the small bookcase of travel guides and author copies into this section. It's a tight fit but I can still open the closet door

Side Note- the closet has been cleaned out! I finally put up the
shelf inside! It's still packed but at least it's decluttered and in
plastic bins/ file drawers!

CREATIVITY- Is now decluttered and has only a glass & brass wind chime hanging in front of the window
FOUNDATION- remains clear and the garbage can is out in the hallway
HEALTH- My Barbie dollhouse and accessories are now in this space.

WEALTH- Not dealing with the large bookcase tonight
FAME- Removed clutter and other people's stuff from the floor
RELATIONSHIPS- I threw away a couple of things but the main desk is still a mess. It was suggested I turn the desk 180* to face the door but it's too big and heavy

This is how my office looked after I got rid of two trash bags of stuff and really got into the work.

Better, but not quite there yet.
