So, I continued being aggressive about making changes
in my work space:
WISDOM- I went to
two different New Age shops and bought a
silver scroll holder to hang above the doorway once I 'hear' what
needs to be written inside of it. I also bought these two pieces of
art and hung them on my wall close to the doorframe

CAREER- I'm looking for a poster/ print of a water scene to hang
on the wall, but in the meantime I've placed a glass bowl of seashells
in the health bagua of the work table. I am being very careful to
keep the table clear of anything except the essentials
TRAVEL- I picked up the prizes for
my book contest off the floor and put them in gift bags on top of the
bookshelf. And I totally forgot to mention before, even though it was
already there, I have a Native American shield hanging on the closet
door.
CREATIVITY- I bought two crystal wands today- one clear quartz, the
other amethyst- and laid them on the window sill beneath the wind chime.
The tips of each wand point toward the desk and work table respectively
FOUNDATION- I shopped for a small
earth-toned area rug today but didn't find one
HEALTH/FAMILY- I hung four pictures
on the wall, three of which are photographs taken by my late father, all
of which have tress in them
PROSPERITY- I cleared the tall
bookcase of everything I felt remotely negative about and cleared the
top of the case. On the top shelf I placed every edition of my four
books and a metal dish of rocks & stones I like. I also bought today
three Feng Shui coins and a red bag which I hung on the wall, making
sure the bag was not closed.
** The trashcan is sitting on the floor between WEALTH and FAME. I will
make sure I empty it often but deliberately placed it there because I
need to be less concerned with those materialistic areas.
FAME and RELATIONSHIPS-
I'm talking about these together because my L- shaped desk is in both. I
cleared the desk off completely [though the drawers and cabinets still
need to be addressed], so that the only things on the upper shelf are my
Barbie critique partners [one doll sits at a desk with a PC, the other
in a chair holding manuscript pages] and a small letter sorter in the
Wealth bagua, a candle in Fame along with a makeup mirror so I can see
the door behind me.
(I would still like to add a water element if I can figure out where
to put a small table fountain, but I may have to do without it in
favor of keeping the surfaces uncluttered. I also want to find some
artwork to put in the corner above the desk in Relationships.)
What my office looked like when I finished the class.
Bella told us, "When you rearrange your things based on the principles of the Bagua, you
are putting the power of your intention to work. Because the first step
to getting what you want is to seek positive change in that specific
area. It’s one thing to sit around and dream or complain or hope. But
it’s another thing entirely to actually take action towards a goal.
That’s what working with the Bagua Map pushes us toward: ACTION.
Remember, in Feng Shui, change is good. It’s all about change, really.
So taking action is very important"
I think the improved, positive energy may or may not
come from the chi and flow in the room. But I know for sure that my
positive attitude and increased productivity comes from having a clean,
uncluttered space!
