Making Feng Shui Work

Is your writing life working for you? Is your office working for your writing life? If not, then consider the possibility that you need to make some changes. Whether your chi is blocked or you just have too much crap in your way, feng shui could help!

Writing Outside the Box

Writer's Block. We've all heard of it, most of us have suffered through it and we all dread getting it. There are few things worse than needing to get the words down, but having your mind come up blank. So steal this idea...

I Got The Call! Now What?

Omigod! You did it! You stayed up late and skipped lunches at the office. You got input from critique partners and online friends. You made the final round of a contest or seven. You sweated through the editor appointment, the request for the full manuscript and the revision process. And now...

Revision Hell 101... 102... 103...

What does it take to go from acceptable submission to published story? One hell of a lot of hard work. Writing is a creative challenge, but revising is a test of your talent and skills.

For every fifty partial submissions received, only one manuscript will be requested in full. So how can you possibly beat these odds? You can't. But maybe you can shorten them by entering contests.
Dialogue  is not just conversation between characters; it's one form of communication between you and your reader.  For that reason, it's important to make your characters' words ring true.
